Strong Rock Elementary Teacher Mandy Colwell Receives National Teacher of the Year Honor

Strong Rock Elementary School is proud to congratulate fifth-grade teacher Mandy Colwell on receiving a prestigious national award. The Stanley M. Herzog Charitable Foundation has selected Colwell as one of only twelve educators nationwide to receive its 2026 Teacher of the Year honor. Colwell was chosen from among hundreds of applicants across the country.

5th Grade Leader of the Week

Our final Leader of the Week brings Jesus’s words in John 15:5 to mind, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.” This was her first year at Strong Rock, and we are so glad she joined us! She has worked hard to meet academic expectations, and her growth is evident! She has a quick wit, is joyful, and loyal friend to many. Our Leader of the Week is Kam Isaac!

Strong Rock Christian School Honors 2026 Teachers and Support Staff of the Year

Strong Rock Christian School recognized its 2026 Teachers of the Year and Support Person of the Year, honoring Mrs. Mandy Colwell as Elementary Teacher of the Year, Mr. Will Paulk as Academy Teacher of the Year, and Mr. Troy Davis as High School Teacher of the Year, along with Mrs. Amory Burdett as Support Person of the Year.

Strong Rock Christian School Varsity Shooting Team Wins GIAA State Championship

Congratulations to the Varsity Patriots Shooting Team on being named State Champions at the GIAA State Shotgun Tournament. It was held this past weekend at Forest City Gun Club in Savannah, Ga. 

The team worked incredibly hard and follows the moto: “We are guided by faith, we are driven by focus, we are Strong Rock.” The program includes 18 members from sixth through 12th grades, with a dozen students competing on the varsity team. 

“This weekend the team showed up and showed up strong,” said Jimmy Higginbotham, Strong Rock Resource Officer and Shooting Coach. “They worked hard all year to get to this point, and when the final challenge was set before them, they crushed it. I consider myself lucky to be called their Coach.”
