Judy Johnston to Retire After 19 Years of Leadership at Strong Rock

After 19 years of faithful leadership, Strong Rock Christian School announces the retirement of longtime Elementary Principal and Chief Academic Officer Judy Johnston at the conclusion of the 2025-26 school year.

For nearly two decades, Johnston has served the Strong Rock community with wisdom, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to Christ-centered education. As elementary principal and academic officer, she has shepherded students, families, and faculty with a steady and prayerful presence, helping shape both the academic excellence and spiritual foundation of the school.

Under her leadership, Strong Rock has flourished academically and spiritually, cultivating an environment where children are known, celebrated, and inspired to grow in both knowledge and faith. Her encouragement of students, steadfast support of teachers and deep care for families have left a lasting mark on the school community.

“Judy has played an integral role in the growth and success of Strong Rock Christian School,” Head of School Paul McCracken said. “Her visionary leadership, steadfast faith, and deep love for our students and faculty have helped shape who we are today. Because of her dedication and commitment to excellence, our school has achieved so much over the past 19 years. We are profoundly grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.”

Johnston said serving at Strong Rock has been one of the greatest privileges of her life.

“Working to fulfill the mission of our school and watching it take root in the hearts and lives of our students has truly been the highlight of my time here,” she said. “Some of my most treasured moments have been the quiet conversations with students and the privilege of hearing their prayers each morning.”

As she looks ahead, Johnston said she feels called into a new season focused on family.

“Time is precious, and my heart longs to spend more of it with my family, especially my grandchildren,” she said.

While Strong Rock will miss her daily leadership, the school looks forward to celebrating her retirement at the end of the school year and honoring her years of service to the community.

Strong Rock Christian School will conduct a comprehensive search for a new elementary principal in the months ahead and remains committed to building on the strong foundation Johnston helped establish.
