Darby Merritt, Class of 2025, Receives State Championship Ring for 300m Hurdles

Strong Rock Christian School is proud to celebrate Class of 2025 graduate Darby Merritt, who is a GIAA 2024 Girls 300m Hurdles State Champion and recently received her official state championship ring.

Darby was a valued member of the Patriots Track and Field team since 7th grade. Her ring represents not only this state title, but also years of hard work, perseverance, and excellence on the track. This victory is the highlight of an outstanding high school career—Darby has placed in the top three in the state for the 300m hurdles for three consecutive seasons.

"Darby is one of the hardest working track athletes that has come through Strong Rock. Everyday she came locked in ready to learn and compete," said Emily Mayer, Head Girls Track & Field Coach. "We're going to miss her bubbly personality, her smile, and the way she led our program by example. But we're also stoked to see what she will do at Berry!"

Darby will take her talents to the next level, continuing her athletic career at Berry College this fall. Strong Rock is excited to see the impact Darby will make academically and athletically, and we pray she will continue to use her gifts to glorify God in this next chapter.

Congratulations, Darby, on this incredible achievement!
