Our final Leader of the Week brings Jesus’s words in John 15:5 to mind, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.” This was her first year at Strong Rock, and we are so glad she joined us! Bailey Knight and Milan Patel Earn Recognition in National Merit Program

Congratulations to Strong Rock juniors, Bailey Knight and Milan Patel for being recognized in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them among the nation’s highest-achieving high school students.

The two students qualified after taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and meeting the program’s entry requirements. Their performance reflects exceptional academic promise and dedication.

More than 1.3 million students entered to win the scholarship nationwide. Knight and Patel are among the 50,000 highest scorers, a group that will be honored in the fall as either Semifinalists or Commended Students.

Of those top performers, approximately 16,000 students will advance as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, representing the highest scorers in each state. The remaining 34,000 students will receive Commended Student recognition for their outstanding results on the PSAT/NMSQT.

The recognition highlights both students’ academic achievements and places them in a distinguished group of students across the country.
