Strong Rock Elementary Teacher Mandy Colwell Receives National Teacher of the Year Honor

Strong Rock Elementary School is proud to congratulate fifth-grade teacher Mandy Colwell on receiving a prestigious national award. The Stanley M. Herzog Charitable Foundation has selected Colwell as one of only twelve educators nationwide to receive its 2026 Teacher of the Year honor. Colwell was chosen from among hundreds of applicants across the country.

High Five Students

Congratulations to our High Five winners: Ryleigh Easterlin, Jasmine Holmes, Addie Kingsley, Lance Huddleston, and Colton Lomax.

5th Grade Leader of the Week

Our final Leader of the Week brings Jesus’s words in John 15:5 to mind, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.” This was her first year at Strong Rock, and we are so glad she joined us! She has worked hard to meet academic expectations, and her growth is evident! She has a quick wit, is joyful, and loyal friend to many. Our Leader of the Week is Kam Isaac!

Elementary (K-5th grade)

Our elementary program educates those enrolled in three-year-old pre-kindergarten (PK3) through fifth grade. Children are busy daily in reading, singing, playing musical instruments, writing and publishing stories, solving problems, exploring computer skills, actively listening, painting pictures, playing outside, and role playing, while worshiping and glorifying God through each of these activities.

All classrooms are equipped with SMARTBoard technology allowing teachers and students to use SMART Notebook, PowerPoint presentations, interactive labs, online streaming videos in content areas, and other hands-on activities. Strong Rock maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio to actively promote close communication and to foster intellectual interaction between classmates and instructors.

Our faculty and staff work together to ensure a quality atmosphere where children are taught in the context of daily life. The seamless curriculum, founded on a biblical worldview and measured by National Standards with performance-based assessments, ensures that all students master the content being taught.

The Pre-Kindergarten program at Strong Rock educates children who are three or four years old prior to September 1. The program is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

We look forward to meeting and welcoming you to Strong Rock Christian School.
